The James Hotel is proudly built and run by the O'Carroll family, with Norma and Tony at the helm, alongside their sons Anthony, Thomas, and Paul. Our family-owned company, Roscar, is the driving force behind the construction of the hotel, backed by a small but dedicated team. We embarked on this ambitious journey in March 2019, knocking down the existing building to start fresh. Construction began in September of the same year, and despite significant delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we pushed through to make our vision a reality.

 

Throughout the five years of planning and building, our family was hands-on in making all the critical decisions, which often sparked lively discussions around the dinner table! Our background is in hotel and bar fit-outs, and as a result Roscar played a central role in the intricate fit-out of the hotel, from the custom quartz staircase to the bar design, reception area, and the unique interior elements such as bed frames, wardrobes, and abstract wall features.

 

We were thrilled to open the Bar, named O'Carroll's Bridge Lane, just in time for Christmas 2023, followed by opening the hotel in February 2024. The kitchen officially began serving food in May 2024. 

 

Now managed by brother Anthony and Paul O’Carroll, with Paul’s wife Mary as Accomadation Manager, Eimear Duffy as Reservations Manager, and Gatis Cibulis as F&B Manager, The James Hotel has quickly established itself as a favorite for both guests and visitors alike. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback, especially from those enjoying the modern, relaxed atmosphere of our Bar and Hotel.
