Puck Fair

Puck Fair (Killorglin)

The Puck Fair, held every August in the nearby town of Killorglin, is one of Ireland’s oldest and most unique festivals—dating back over 400 years. The centrepiece of the event is the crowning of a wild mountain goat as “King Puck,” a quirky tradition that sets the tone for a truly unforgettable celebration.

The fair spans three days and features parades, traditional Irish music, street performances, markets, and fireworks. It draws thousands of visitors every year and captures the spirit of rural Ireland in a lively, colourful atmosphere.

Just under an hour’s drive from The James Hotel, Puck Fair makes for a fantastic day trip during your stay. Enjoy the festivities and return to Tralee for a relaxing evening in the comfort of your hotel room or with a drink in our welcoming bar.
